M KimbleOct 2026SurrogateI completed my first surrogacy journey and delivered a healthy baby May 3, 2023 with Choice Surrogacy. I have since completed amazing journeys with ConceiveAbilities. Having experienced both agencies, I have a better understanding of what proper agency support should look like. I chose Choice because I lived in Texas at the time and thought working with a Texas-based agency would be the best fit. I entered my first journey with my heart completely in it. I trusted the agency to guide me through the process, protect my interests, and look out for me along the way. I was matched with Chinese IPs who, overall, were very nice and loving people. However, there were things about the experience that completely changed the way I viewed surrogacy. About two weeks after the second heartbeat confirmation the intended parents texted me, “Hey don’t know if Trish told you but we just picked up our baby from Houston this past weekend so we’ve been busy.” I had no idea they had another baby on the way. I later learned that I was one of three surrogates carrying for them. The IPs nor Trish disclosed that information to me during matching. Had I known, I would have chosen a match still waiting and praying for a baby. I was shocked, devastated, and honestly upset because it made me feel like the emotional circumstances I had been told were not what I believed they were. After I had shared my family history, medical history, life story, and essentially all of my personal business with these people, the lack of transparency felt incredibly personal. I spoke with my attorney, cried about it, and asked for advice in surrogacy groups because I genuinely felt like my trust had been broken. I learned that while it felt like a huge breach of trust, it didn’t breach my contract and technically, it was not my business. I went in believing this would be a beautiful, personal connection between myself and a family I was helping. Instead, the experience felt incredibly transactional. The IPs didn’t come to my embryo transfer, checked in occasionally throughout the pregnancy & did not attend the birth, they did pick up the baby. They had a baby while I was pregnant & another baby shortly after I delivered. Medical coverage was a major source of stress. I began the IVF process in July and transferred in late August, but Choice had not yet purchased a health insurance policy for me. As a military spouse with TRICARE at the time, I never had to worry about paying for medical care. However, TRICARE is not surrogacy friendly, so I needed appropriate coverage specifically for the journey. Trish eventually signed me up for a policy during open enrollment in November, but the policy did not become active until January. So I did not have surrogacy health insurance coverage for more than half my journey. I received medical bills and delinquent notices for bills related to my surrogacy care. I submitted bills and felt like I was getting the runaround from both Trish and Chloe. I was questioned about why I went to the doctor and how the appointment was related to surrogacy. That was frustrating because I would receive texts from Trish and Chloe the morning of my appointments reminding me to be on time, and send an update afterward. They knew when my appointments were and that they were related to the pregnancy. So being questioned about bills was frustrating. Eventually, I sent an email including my attorney and the IPs essentially stating that I would pursue legal action if the outstanding medical bills were not handled. My attorney never responded. My IPs apologized and offered to pay them out of pocket. Being pregnant and receiving delinquent medical bills for expenses related to the surrogacy was stressful. I had my own personal insurance coverage. Amani Hansen was the attorney provided to me by Choice. Trish told me herself that she loved working with Amani and when she is in town, they have lunch together. At the time, I didn’t understand how important it could be to have a clear sense of independence between an agency and the attorney representing the surrogate. That became a much bigger concern when I actually needed legal advocacy. There were times I reached out to Amani and received no reply. I remember genuinely wondering, “Whose side is my attorney actually on?” I never felt like Amani was truly in my corner. There were times when compensation payments were several days late, I wanted to understand whether there was an issue or error causing the delays. I contacted my attorney, but was directed back to Trish. Although my contract read “escrow”, Trish told me there was not an escrow company because she was the escrow, and that she had up to a X amount of time to issue my payment. Which were made through Zelle or EFT. After working with ConceiveAbilities, I now believe there are much more professional and transparent ways to manage surrogate compensation. We recognize that you were upset during your journey, and we offered counseling with a mental health professional to support you. You are entitled to share your experience, but several statements require correction, particularly your claim that the intended parent did not attend the birth. I was there with you, parent was there with you. I still have a photograph of us together on your delivery bed with your beautiful daughter. I remember playing with her while you held the parents’ newborn. That is a heartfelt memory, and the photograph directly contradicts your statement that neither parent attended. Your additional claim that Choice managed three separate surrogacy journeys for these intended parents is categorically false. We absolutely did not manage three journeys for them. I will share your post with the intended parents, and you are welcome to contact them directly to confirm this. You never told us that you would only consider parents without children. Already having children does not make a family less deserving of help through surrogacy. The parents showed you great affection, kept in touch, and sent you gifts. Their path to building a family involved some of the most difficult circumstances we have ever helped a family navigate. We will respect their privacy, but we cannot leave unchallenged the implication that they were anything but kind to you and to us as their agency. They were never transactional in their intent or pursuit of creating their family. We understand that you have not accused them of the harms currently receiving public attention in our surrogacy community. Still, we ask you to be careful with your wording, because readers could mistakenly associate this U.S. family with those concerns, as others in these comments already are. Such an association is untrue and deeply unfair to these caring parents. Chloe and I were deeply concerned and advocated for your postpartum medical care. When you later discussed another journey, I shared my concerns about the potential risk to your physical health. Your compensation payments were issued automatically, although bank processing can sometimes take a few days, including processing by the receiving bank. If bills relating to your care after delivery remained outstanding, we had no knowledge of them. We paid the bills submitted to us for surrogacy matters on time. The intended parents’ responsibility for medical expenses relates to the surrogacy, including maternity care, delivery, and related care as provided in your agreement. Bills for personal illnesses or circumstances unrelated to the surrogacy are not automatically their responsibility. Moenysha, many of the professionals we refer have worked alongside us in this industry for more than 30 years. Of course professional friendships have developed over those decades. Such relationships are common among agencies and other surrogacy professionals. Amani is an independent attorney and a consummate professional, highly respected, who works with several agencies, representing intended parents or surrogates in separate matters. She is also now a law partner at one of the most longstanding law firms in this country whom have created much of the existing law setting precedent in surrogacy case law and has served on several of our communities' boards and committees, to include SEEDS Ethics organization. My experience with Choice Surrogacy was nothing short of incredible! From med checks and transfer all the way through pregnancy, delivery, and even now in my postpartum stage, Trish and Chloe have been there every step of the way. Anytime I needed something, had a question, or just even needed a little reassurance (which happened a couple times, haha) they were incredibly easy to reach and always made sure I had everything I needed. One of my favorite things about Choice was how personal and simple the entire process felt. There weren't a bajillion different people to contact/hoops to jump through just to get something handled. It was Trish and Chloe from start to finish. Even with Trish being the head of the company, I could still reach out and connect with her directly whenever I needed something. That level of accessibility and support was something I couldn't find anywhere else when choosing an agency, and it followed me through my entire journey. More than anything though, I never felt like just another body on a list. They took the time to actually get to know not just me but my kiddos and husband, cared about my well being, celebrated milestones alongside me and my intended parents, and made sure I quite literally had everything I needed from beginning to end. My experience as a hopeful surrogate (gestational carrier) started off like all the other positive reviewers. Trish is a skilled saleswoman, bragging about how her agency is simply the best so I did not even consider any others. I expediently completed their questionnaires, interview, psych evaluation, health information requests plus other various hoops they hurried me to get through. They told me I cleared my medical records screening and that they found a match for me. This was earlier this spring. Their contract states monthly payments of $500 begin once medical records are cleared and there is a match. Except that did not happen, because then they later told me that the clinic decided against moving forward. Okay? I was confused but trusted them. A couple of months later, Choice said they found another clinic that approved my records (CCRM the Memorial location in Houston). They set me up on a match meeting with another couple and I accepted. Chloe emailed me stating I would finally start receiving my monthly payments. CCRM instructed me to begin taking birth control they sent to my pharmacy. Then later Choice told me CCRM changed their minds, because they now wanted confirmation that I did not have adenomyosis first (when I did not). The couple I matched with was crushed. I still expected to receive my monthly payments, because the misshap on their end was not my fault and I did my part according to the contract. But I still had both a transvaginal ultrasound AND a vaginal MRI done anyway at my own expense to confirm I did not have adenomyosis (and of course I did not have it). I then asked Choice if I could be reimbursed for the co-payment. They ignored the question. I asked about the status of the couple that I had met and matched with. They ignored that question too. I asked about next steps with CCRM or other clinics. They read the question in the chat and again simply chose not to respond a word. They flat out ghosted me after that for months, until I terminated our agreement. I requested my file from them and of course they won't provide it. It has been weeks since then, so this review is long overdue and they definitely had it coming. I truly wasted so many critical months with this agency, and also went on birth control because of CCRM for zero reason. If you are intended parents considering spending thousands of your hard earned dollars in the 5-digits on either of them, I would seriously reconsider. I intend to speak about my experience soon on social media since my comments about them keeps getting deleted in Facebook groups (I'm pretty sure they bribed them to remove them or they are secretly the admins). Trish is a master gaslighter who will try to spin this another way and deflect blame, but I have kept screenshots of everything and happy to share it. Feel free to email me if you want more details. Surrogacy is deeply personal, and when medical decisions change unexpectedly, it can feel incredibly unfair. Because IVF clinics only determine medical eligibility, we at Choice Surrogacy do not approve medical records, and those determinations can evolve, agencies like ours don't control whether a match can proceed. At first glance, from the website, it seems like this is an ethical agency. However, during my call with them, the owner Trish hard-sold me her program. She picked up on words that I was using and repeated them back to me to convince me that the program was the best choice. She asked about other agencies I was checking out and gave me tons of reasons why they weren't good choices. Then, she insisted that I use the reproductive attorney that she would choose for me, instead of the attorney that I was already working with. After I expressed some discomfort to that, she said that it's important to use only the best of the best attorneys in the business and implied that the attorney I was working with wasn't as good as hers (which just isn't true though). After the initial consultation, she told me she would follow up with more information about the program, send across referrals, etc. but I never heard from her again. It was a very icky consultation with a lot of red flags, and left me feeling disappointed and disheartened.…

It’s never my intention for anyone to feel pressured or uncomfortable, and I apologize that my approach came across that way. We have so many folks to help and much education and information to share. I see my role in the surrogacy process as providing expert guidance—drawing on over 30 years of experience and a deep passion for helping intended parents and surrogates navigate this complex journey with as much legal and financial protection as possible. I’d like to clarify that the name provided in your review does not reflect a consultation with me at Choice Surrogacy. However I did have a conversation with one couple, the only one I can remember having issues with our attorney referral we give, that were adamant about using their own personal family attorney with no experience in surrogacy and I mentioned I would ask (or they could ask) our recommended attorney to allow the family attorney to review the Gestational Carrier Agreement. I also may have spent more than an hour and half being with you as you shared you have had some negative experiences with other agencies and I wanted to be sure I listened to you and intentfully helped by comparing the differences in other agencies vs Choice you brought to me. We only use one firm that has been the creator of much original surrogacy law for our country. I too have worked with California Legislature to pass a Family Code law in California. Bill AB 2344 the first law ever to connect liability of insurance regarding both parents and surrogate to the surrogacy agreement. The attorneys we work with also insert all our one-of-a-kind financial programs within the GCA, therefore, encompassing the detailed proprietary plan, it is not a typical escrow or GCA. Choice is unique in the industry and to compare against others is often misunderstood in standard contracts. Our attorney referrals also act for our international clients as a claim’s negotiator, free of charge, for their newborn here in the states with no insurance coverages. During this time in our country’s state of the government where the laws of surrogacy could be unknown in the near future, we must have keen attorneys on our side, meaning the surrogate side and the parent side in order to circumvent any unexpected changes in the law that may come our way. Of course, there are no fees shared between us and any attorneys as that is completely not legal. I do not understand the use of the red flag comment. We also gave no referrals to you as you never responded, yes, you would enjoy working with us. We only refer once we have a verbal or written agreement of the parents desire to work with us. There are many opinions about surrogacy practices, and it’s common for longstanding agencies to refer their clients to specific attorneys based on trusted relationships and past successes for their clients and surrogates. Some agencies are even owned by the surrogacy attorney or have partners that are surrogacy attorneys. At Choice, we work very intimately with intended parents for an average of 12-15 months, guiding each case with care and expert insight to ensure a predictable and well-protected process. Considering the depth and duration of support we offer, I respectfully ask that you review your impression based on a single phone call. Negative reviews of this nature can have a significant impact on a business and on my ability to help others in the future. I delivered a healthy baby May 3, 2023 with Choice Surrogacy. I have since completed amazing journeys with ConceiveAbilities. Having experienced both agencies, I better understand what proper agency support should look like. I chose Choice because I lived in Texas and thought a Texas-based agency would be the best fit. I trusted the agency to guide me, protect my interests, and look out for me. I was matched with Chinese IPs who were generally very nice and loving people. However, this experience changed how I viewed surrogacy. About two weeks after the second heartbeat confirmation, the IPs texted me, “Hey don’t know if Trish told you but we just picked up our baby from Houston this past weekend so we’ve been busy.” I had no idea they had another baby on the way. I later learned I was one of three surrogates carrying for them. These IPs were in their 50s and used a donor egg. Neither the IPs nor Trish disclosed this during matching. Had I known, I would have chosen a match still waiting and praying for a baby. I was shocked and devastated. After sharing my family history, medical history, and personal life, the lack of transparency felt personal. I spoke with my attorney, cried, & sought advice in surrogacy groups because I felt my trust had been broken. I learned that although it felt like a huge breach of trust, it didn’t breach my contract and technically wasn’t my business. I expected a beautiful, personal connection with the family I was helping. Instead, it felt transactional. The IPs didn’t attend the embryo transfer, checked in occasionally & didn’t attend the birth. The father arrived to pick up the baby along with a family member the next day, that’s when I met them physically in person for the very first time, Trish came too. They had one baby while I was pregnant and another shortly after I delivered. Medical coverage was stressful. I began IVF in July and transferred in late August, but Choice hadn’t purchased a policy for me. As a military spouse with TRICARE, I’d never worried about paying for medical care. However, TRICARE isn’t surrogacy-friendly, so I needed appropriate coverage for the journey. Trish enrolled me during open enrollment in November, but coverage didn’t begin until January, leaving me without surrogacy health insurance for more than half my pregnancy. I received medical bills and delinquency notices for surrogacy-related care. I submitted bills but felt I was getting the runaround from Trish and Chloe. I was questioned about why I went to the doctor & how appointments related to surrogacy. This was frustrating because Trish and Chloe texted me the morning of appointments to remind me to be on time and request updates afterward. They knew my appointments were pregnancy-related, yet I was questioned about the bills. I sent an email including my attorney & the IPs stating I’d pursue legal action if the outstanding bills weren’t handled. My attorney never responded. My IPs apologized and offered to pay out of pocket. Receiving delinquency notices for pregnancy-related expenses was stressful. I had insurance coverage. Amani Hansen was the attorney Choice provided. Trish told me she loved working with Amani & that they have lunch together when she is in town. At the time, I didn’t understand how important independence between an agency and the surrogate’s attorney could be. I would reach out to Amani and sometimes received no reply. I genuinely wondered, “Whose side is my attorney actually on?” I never felt she was truly in my corner. Compensation payments were sometimes several days late. When I contacted my attorney about the delays, I was directed back to Trish. Although my contract said “escrow,” Trish told me there was no escrow company because she was the escrow and had up to X amount of time to issue payments, which was through Zelle or EFT. After working with ConceiveAbilities for additional journeys, I believe there are more professional and transparent ways to manage surrogate compensation. This is my personal experience with Choice Surrogacy. I would never recommend them.…

I do NOT recommend Choice Surrogacy to anyone considering using them. My experience as a surrogate (gestational carrier) started off like all the other positive reviewers. Trish is a skilled saleswoman, bragging about how her agency is simply the best so I did not even consider any others. I expediently completed their questionnaires, interview, psych evaluation, health information requests plus other various hoops they hurried me to get through. They told me I cleared my medical records screening and that they found a match for me. This was last spring. Their contract that I signed states monthly payments of $500 begin once medical records are cleared and there is a match. Except that did not happen, because then they later told me that the clinic decided against moving forward. I was confused but trusted them. A couple of more months later, Choice said they found another clinic that approved my records (CCRM the Gessner location in Houston). They set me up on a match meeting with another couple and I accepted. Chloe emailed me stating I would finally start receiving my monthly payments. CCRM instructed me to start taking birth control they ordered to my pharmacy. Then later Choice told me CCRM changed their minds, because they now wanted confirmation that I did not have adenomyosis first (when I did not). The couple I matched with was crushed. I still expected to receive my monthly payments, and they gave me only one and that was it. And even trying to get that was like scraping nails on chalkboard. It was not some "compensatory" gift like she will claim, it was what they owed to me period according to the contract. The payments should have continued monthly because the misshap on their end was not my fault, and I did everything I was supposed to on my end. And even after I took time off from my job to complete both a transvaginal ultrasound AND a pelvic MRI done at my own expense to confirm I did not have adenomyosis (which cost my insurance thousands of dollars, and of course I did not have it) I then asked Choice if I could be reimbursed for the co-payment. They ignored the question. I asked about the status of the couple that I had met and matched with. They ignored that question too. I asked about next steps with CCRM or other clinics. They read the question in the chat and again simply chose not to respond a word. They flat out ghosted me after that for months, until I terminated our agreement. I requested my file from them and of course they won’t provide it. So this review is long overdue and they definitely had it coming. I truly wasted so many critical months with this agency that I will never get back, and also went on birth control because of CCRM for zero reason. If you are intended parents considering spending thousands of your hard earned dollars with Choice Surrogacy or CCRM, I would seriously consider taking my business elsewhere. Trish is a master gaslighter who will try to spin this another way and deflect blame in her response after this below what I post, but I have kept screenshots of everything and happy to share it. I used choice for my first journey and I wouldn't use them again.A lot of surrogates have complained, me included, about not getting lost wages during postpartum recovery. They usually use the all-inclusive package and the higher monthly allowance to kind of "make up" for it. And to be fair, they did check in on me every now and then, but that was pretty much it. If you decide to go with them, I'd just make sure your contract has childcare expenses and postpartum recovery reimbursements written in a way that benefits you, not them. Again, they're not a terrible agency, I just feel like there are some areas where they could take advantage of surrogates if you're not careful.…
I went through them for my first surrogacy, but wouldn't choose them again. If you decide to work with them, make sure to secure your lost wages after delivery. Unfortunately, many surrogates, including myself, have had issues with payment. They're not the worst, but better agencies are out there. I was surprised they didn't follow up after my 6-week postpartum checkup.

I am working with them as well. Trish and Chloe have been great. They always respond my text quickly and pay the medical bills right away. They would notify me before they are gone. They also booked a nice hotel room for me when I traveled. I am having really positive experiences with Choice so far. Did you get paid more for your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th than your first time?

I recently started working with Choice. Trish and Chloe are extremely dedicated and always follow through. I would try and reschedule with them, I think you would be happy with how they handle everything, especially their communication. In my experience they reply the same day, or next day, depends on my question and when I message them. They are always on point and propmt with every question I have, and making sure that all sides are on the same page, every step of the journey.
Hi there! I worked with Choice my first journey and now I am on my second with them. I would 100% say give them another chance. Like everyone has said above, yes, your time is valuable but I promise they value your time. It had to have been something very emergent for them to cancel meetings.
