Family makers…where to even begin. For starters- they helped change our entire world in the best way possible. We are holding our baby girl in our arms today without any gripes or bad memories through the entire surrogacy journey. We had an incredible experience with this agency from start to finish. They matched us with the most amazing surrogate (who has utilized them for her journeys 2x before us) and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better agency. Finally a good time to write my review! Choosing Family Makers for my surrogacy journey was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the very beginning, the process felt thoughtful, organized, and genuinely supportive. Every step — from applying to delivery — was handled with care, clarity, and compassion. My coordinator (Ashley Christman) was absolutely phenomenal. She was communicative, knowledgeable, and truly invested in me as a person, not just a surrogate. One moment that will stay with me forever was during a late-night placental abruption. I couldn’t get ahold of my intended parents, and without hesitation my coordinator stayed awake, continuously trying to reach them and making sure I was ok. That level of dedication speaks volumes about the kind of agency Family Makers is. My intended parents were nothing short of amazing. From our first match meeting, it felt like a beautiful, natural connection. We were truly a picture-perfect match, built on trust, respect, and gratitude. I felt appreciated and supported every step of the way, and it made the entire experience incredibly meaningful. Shopping around for agencies this week & came across good reviews for one that was closer & wanted to explore options. First experience terrible. Horrible communication. Had a call scheduled , received an email less than 30 minutes before from Janae stating they moved on. No explanation as to disqualification. Already having being qualified by multiple agencies I was curious as to why they didn’t see me as qualified. Called to speak to someone, no answer, no call back !!
I completed my 2nd journey with FMS last April. This journey was seamless. From matching with a great set of IPs to any assistance needed throughout I could always count on my FMS team. I love that I am not just a number to them, a text doesn’t go unanswered for long. I have always felt heard by the team at FMS since I signed up for my 1st journey 4 years ago. We did have a minor blip during the journey, the clinic required a specialized psych eval. It was definitely an all hands on deck hurdle, trying to figure out how to get the psych the clinic was requiring privileges in my state, but we got it done and without any major delays in the process. I always say when I see reviews in here ‘why would anyone go anywhere else?’ and I truly believe that. Seriously you won’t find a better crew than FMS. Give them a call!…
I will always recommend the Family Makers team and am truly thankful to have found such a great group of people! I was a GC snd they always made me feel comfortable, heard and supported from intake through after delivery. I never felt pressured and always felt guided through the whole journey. They even still check in to see how I'm doing/feeling well after delivery. They may be a smaller agency but have a huge heart! ❤️
My wife recently applied and got approved for this surrogacy... but unfortunately a lady named Ashley told my wife that there was no need in her filling out any other paper work due to no response?! My wife never received a call text or voicemail with any info, so my wife then went back on there to reapply got approved and then was emailed again being told to refrain from filling out any more forms, that they would not be able to move forward. My wife then explained that she never received any info about what to do next, that if she had, she would have responded immediately and that is when she was told not to fill out anymore. We were completely shocked at her response and how she responded when all my wife was trying to do was find ways of getting info on what to do next. This has been something she has been wanting to do for a very long time and got approved for it and then told not to proceed, because of the lack of communication on THEIR part. My wife was very disappointed with this agency and so was i. Now she is being made out to be a unfit woman to carry a child for another family??! Are you serious right now lol. You guys are supposed to be professionals and making statements like that is very unprofessional in my eyes. My wife is a mother to 5 beautiful children and is highly qualified in my eyes and apparently other agencies as well. So I am proud to say that my wife will not being carrying for this agency and will be a blessing for another family at a more professional agency.…

I just wrapped up my surrogacy journey with Family Makers Surrogacy and cannot say one negative thing about any of those ladies! I felt supported from the time I enrolled (June 2023), through matching and medical clearance (August-November 2023), contracts (December 2023), failed first round of meds (January-February 2024), first transfer (May 2024), and delivery (January 2025).I felt like I could reach out at anytime and immediately get a response. I realize I haven’t shared a review for FMS and it is overdue and well deserved. I began working with Family Makers in October of 2020. I had been doing research for quite some time and joined a Florida/Georgia match group to learn more and just watch from the shadows. It was at this point a few months into being in that specific group that Ashlee Hammonds posted a profile that spoke directly to me. I reached out to her to learn more about her agency and I immediately felt like I belonged there. It wasn’t automated emails and canned responses. She cared about me and the IPs and wanted to get to know me and what I wanted out of a journey and never made me feel pressured in the slightest for my first journey. I signed with the agency in October of 2020 and built my profile and match terms and had my first match meeting with the IPs in November of 2020. We began medical screening and legal throughout the remainder of 2020 and completed legal in April of 2021. I completed an ERA in May of 2021 and transferred their last embryo in July of 2021. Everything went wonderfully with the pregnancy and even though there were some hiccups with the IPs and myself during the journey, the team at FMS always made sure to support both sides equally and independently so that all needs were met and experiences were not tarnished. I delivered a healthy baby in March of 2022. I am still in contact with my case manager to this day and she knows that if the right family comes along to always let me know because, for me, I have to feel a connection with the IPs. I never feel pushed or forced into another journey but always supported when I reach out. I could seriously go on and on about the professionalism and communication with the entire team but it still wouldn’t be enough. I recently completed my first journey with Family Makers and was fortunate enough to have Ashley C. as my mentor throughout the process. Working with Family Makers is a true privilege. I had done my research prior to making that leap into the surrogacy world and was on fence between going independent and using an agency so I posted on a surrogacy match group first to "test the waters". That's where I met my intended parents in May of 2022. I'm 8 months postpartum now which is insane, we have stayed in touch and I receive the cutest baby photos ♡ With that being said I wanted to share my experience! After meeting my intended mom she sent me the link to their surrogacy agency, Family Makers! My first step was to fill out their surrogate application, which was very simple and straightforward. After my application was approved and we had our video call with Ashlee we were officially matched in July of 2022. My IPs had their psych evaluation done two weeks later and then my husband & I had ours in September after I got medical clearance (SHG & labs). Once the clinic received our psych evaluation results we had a meeting with my IPs IVF doctor to go over some things in September which allowed us to move forward with our joint psych evaluation in October. We signed our legal contract and it was then sent to their IVF doctor in November where we then had a med consult. I was given my med calendar and prescribed lupron, progesterone and baby aspirin in which I started on 12/02/2022. I had my endo lining check in January 2023, started PIO on 1/6 and transferred on January 11th, transfer felt like a pap smear yet beautiful because we literally saw baby be shot into my uterus. My IPs flew out to us for heartbeat confirmation a week later and to celebrate IM and I got matching permanent heart bracelets, we still wear them 🤍 Between heartbeat confirmation and the birth, my IPs visited a couple more times for ultrasounds (anatomy scan) and maternity photos, every visit felt like family coming into town. My boys and their daughter were also very involved in the process which was important to all of us. They drove into town after I was monitored for High BP at my 37 week appointment just to be on the safe side and let me tell you their parent intuition was correct! We met up for pedicures and lunch the following day, got a blood pressure cuff and checked it at home where my BP was higher than it's ever been in my life so we made the call. It quite literally could not have worked out more perfectly as my boys Grandpa was already in town visiting so we were able to head straight to the hospital - I was monitored, admitted into L&D on September 9th and induced that evening. Baby was born the following morning at 11:30am on 9/10/23 as my husband and baby's Dad held my hand, MOM caught her own baby! There were no dry eyes in that room! It was beautiful! 🤍 I personally would never go through surrogacy independently because the agency helped so much with the process and lessened the load and stress of things. I tend to get overwhelmed easily and I didn't feel that way at all. Both Ashlee and Samara (case manager) called and texted me frequently throughout the entire journey to check in and see how I was doing. Whenever I needed help with escrow or paying a medical bill they were on top of it! After surro baby's birth, Samara and Ashlee sent me a couple of unexpected gifts that left me teary eyed. They were always there, every step of the way ready to help when needed. I truly appreciated it. This was all very important to me, it made me feel seen and showed me that even though I didn't initially start my first surrogacy journey with them that they still cared about me as their GC. Just wanted to share our experience with Family Makers in Atlanta, GA. Trying to find a perfect fit for an agency is one of the hardest first steps as an intended parent. Family Makers made our entire process perfect! The first meeting with Ashlee truly inspired us to move forward in the process knowing that they would be there for all of the hard parts. AMAZING COMPANY, if you are actually looking to become a surrogate or interested in Family Makers to help you as an Intended Parent match, take the time to read! I completed my surrogacy journey in June of 2023. I delivered a healthy, happy and beautiful baby boy, and got to be a part of one of the most beautiful moments of my life- watching two people finally see and hold their little bundle of joy in their arms for the first time. The experience will forever be one of the more gratifying and amazing things I have done. Research, research, research- that's what you do as a potential surrogate and as a potential intended parent. All roads led me back to Family Makers Surrogacy. From the very start, with the word-of-mouth suggestion from a close friend who also went through Family Makers Surrogacy and carried her own miracle, to the amazing outpour of positive support on all social media platforms and even google reviews, I knew I had found the right team of people to be the guiding light for my journey. You will not find happier, kinder, more knowledgeable and more helpful people anywhere. Ashlee H. is great, she was kind, and quick to respond and knows this business! She is who you want as the Leader of this team! My case Manager Ashley C. will forever be considered family to me. She is there no matter the time. She texts, calls, is on it with every important date from reminding you to file for maternity clothing through escrow to asking how doctor appointments went. She follows through with anything you give her. She isn't afraid to stand up for you in any situation. She cares about you as a person and your family. No question is silly or not worth asking. She explains any and everything you need to help having a better understanding of and made my whole journey flawless. I applied as a surrogate in February of 2022 and matched with my IPs in April. They had 2 embryos left. We completed embryo transfer in September of 2022. If you are wondering if you should go the independent route vs going with an agency- AGENCY is the way to go. Not hating on the independent goers but I loved how stress free it was. I didn't have to book flights, coordinate with the fertility clinics, didn't have to hunt down attorneys or figure out the laws in my state or even work with the pharmacy to get my meds. I just reviewed and agreed to my contract, did the psych evaluations, and focused on taking my meds. I had a safe and healthy environment for my belly-bud/ wombmate to grow and thrive in and then had a seamless and stress-free delivery. There literally is nothing bad from the whole experience that I can say. I am still in contact with the intended parents, who have their biggest dream growing and learning every day. He is actually started walking assisted with toy walkers. How exciting!! All because I trusted the reviews and went with Family Makers, I was able to help grow this life and make these two wonderful people become a family. The owner, Ashlee, was also an intended parent and I felt that was so important to me. She's gone through the experience and understands the whole process. We started with Family Makers in 2020 right at the start of the pandemic after a devastating diagnosis. We were completely new to the surrogacy process outside of, like most, what you see/read on TV. We interviewed three very well known smaller agencies and one larger agency but we connected the most with Ashlee. We felt that Ashlee was a refreshing combination of realistic, optimistic, and extremely knowledgeable. Her agency having staff who have personal experience as both IPs and surrogates was also a deciding factor for us. Some of the agencies we spoke to seemed very “pro” surrogate at the expense of the IPs both financially and emotionally. We wanted an agency that would serve the interest of us as IPs and also our surrogate equitably. We signed with Family Makers in 2020 and while our path was not problem free (not any fault of the agency), Family Makers was there to help guide us through every step, including some hot button discussions we had to have wit our surrogate that they were a great sounding board to and helped us navigate. We ended up with a perfect match for us, and have a great relationship with our surrogate who delivered our beautiful baby recently. Our surrogate is also very pleased with the agency. Escrow was been paid timely and the assistance the agency provided through our journey from everything including questions around medical, contracts, screening, psych and working with the hospital to make sure we all had a smooth process for delivery. This was my first surrogate journey and I am so glad I went with Family Makers agency. I did talk to other agencies and there was no comparison in how Family Makers made me feel like not just a number. I loved how my case manager and the founder of Family Makers,Ashlee, was always there for me and my IPs! I will do another journey with this company! I absolutely love them!!
GC Review for Family Makers Surrogacy I began my journey in 2020 and delivered a healthy baby in December of 2021. From Day 1 when I contacted Ashlee, the owner - she immediately responded, which set the tone for the whole journey. With every step or question, communication was quick, clear and knowledgeable. Because of Ashlee's intuitive nature, I was matched with a set of IP's that were truly perfect for me - still to this day, I speak with them at least once a week and receive updates. With that said, there were some hiccups and slight complications in the journey but Family Makers handled them without missing a beat - like a well, oiled machine. Always there to lend a hand, explain a complicated situation or just an ear to listen - I felt completely cared for, advocated for and supported before, during and after the journey. Sadly because of a medical diagnosis at the end, it looks like this was my one and only journey but because of Ashlee and my wonderful case manager, Samara, I had exactly the journey I envisioned. I ended my surrogacy journey in July of this year. To say I had an eventful pregnancy would be an understatement. I received an emergent cerclage, ended up on 12 weeks of bedrest to prevent cervical dilation, then was placed on light duty, almost lost my job, and ended up being induced to which baby was OP (sunny side up!) until the very end. All that being said, I don't think I would be mentally as sound as I am now if it were not for my agency, Family Makers. I found them after they posted a picture in my local surrogacy group of this adorable couple. I didn't even have to read their story to know it was them- they were the family I wanted to do this for. Ashlee Hammonds, the owner of Family Makers, helped me through every possible step. Being an OB provider, I was able to speed things through, including getting my pap done and IUD removed in the same week I found them. It was incredibly helpful to have Ashlee easily accessible so that I could quickly get them whatever they needed. She is not only an amazing surrogacy resource, but she even taught me a few things about the fertility side of the OB world. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable about both sides, (she is a former IP!), she always was there to be someone I could vent to or just destress with, offering words of affirmation and of kindness. She gave realistic expectations 100% of the time, but in a way that was comforting and made you know that even if things didn't work out, it would be okay. When I had to be put on bedrest, she called to check on me and went out of her way to ensure my family and myself had everything I needed. Before I even got pregnant, Ashlee advocated for me to have only the best lawyer and with the RE clinic to accept me as a GC. We had many hoops to go through, so many lining checks, a MFM consult, multiple SIS's, several transfer date changes- including less than 24hrs from last lining check to transfer!- and other setbacks, but I never felt alone throughout everything. My case manager, Ashley Hackenmiller was equally as great, but she left the agency shortly after we had heartbeat confirmation for reasons unrelated to the agency. She is a very special person too, and it shows that Family Makers only hires the BEST to be our pillars during this process. I honestly cannot say enough about my wonderful experience with Family Makers. I had a pretty eventful pregnancy, and even pre-pregnancy, but Family Makers was there every step of the way. I had security in knowing that they were there for me just as much as they were there for my IPs. I know they had several GCs while I was in my journey, but the experience with them was so personalized, I felt like I was their only surrogate. I always had everything I needed, even when things felt like they were at their worst. I cannot imagine navigating through the RE's office, the consults and procedures, making sure my appointments were correct and dealing with everything business related when it came to my IPs without Family Makers. I work full time and being a surrogate was like another full time job, so their expertise kept my journey as stress free as possible (All things considering!). If you are a GC considering an agency vs independent- I 100% recommend an agency- you don't know what you don't know! I am a certified nurse midwife/APRN, so I know pregnancy/labor pretty well- I would not do another journey without Family Makers and I cannot imagine anyone doing a journey without them either. We first spoke with them a full year before signing on and out of all the agencies we spoke to, Ashlee was the only one who would check in to see how we were doing periodically. We never felt pressured to make any decisions and were able to speak with current intended parents and surrogates going through their journeys. After signing with them, we were presented with a very high quality match who ended up being perfect for us. From the very beginning Family Makers proved to be a very efficient agency. I had looked into about 8 other (larger) agencies prior to contacting FM and received either very generic responses or no responses I was left still searching. After emailing FM and receiving a response within 20 minutes with extremely details answers to all my questions I knew they were my agency. Some timeline stats: I was matched just over 1 month of getting started. Had my medical eval within 3 months after being matched, transferred approx 3 months after that (Holidays caused a little delay with the clinic), and delivered approx 15 months after being matched. As a first time surrogate FM made the whole process very easy. They constantly informed me of the next step, kept me on track for what needed to be done and how, and were extremely timely with all payments and requests without any need for me to check up on payments. After payments were submitted most reimbursements were within 2-3 days and I have no outstanding payments at all. All communication was extremely prompt and i actually felt like I had a constant support system on top of my family support. They used an outside escrow company who was fantastic! They kept legal on a great schedule and helped me communicate with my IM and my clinic whenever I needed a hand. I believe Ashlee Hammonds puts her whole heart into this agency and I was extremely fortunate to have been able to work with her and her staff. I worked with family makers as a gestational carrier after “breaking up” with another agency due to a poor experience. Family makers was absolutely amazing the entire time. They were on top of everything, they made sure things were constantly moving since the starting process requires so much leg work, and they were always supportive. I set my own fees, I chose my own lawyer as did my intended parents, and a third party escrow company was used. Anything I needed was done even if it was just verbal support. My story began 15 years ago when I finally decided to consider surrogacy as a way to having a family. As each year rolled by I found out that the fertility journey is not easy. I am almost 6weeks pp so here is my agency review. I matched with Family Makers Surrogacy in July of 2018. I had talked to other agencies before deciding and when I talked to Ashlee the owner of Family Makers I knew right away that this was the agency for me. I was matched in September 2018 with amazing like minded IPs. Ashlee was amazing taking care of things when we had issues with insurance. We had our transfer in January 2019 and I delivered a healthy baby boy September 27, 2019. I had some issues after delivery and the agency was amazing. Amazing support from an ethical agency. We were referred by our clinic and spent several months interviewing agencies before deciding to work with FMS. Our decision was largely due to their lower fee and the fact that the owner is an parent through herself. We clicked immediately and she gave me a lot of great information that other agencies didn’t touch on. I hadn't done much research on what i should look for, so knowing what I know now I feel like i was really lucky in that respect. Our first journey took just a few months to get matched and the profile presented to us was ideal for what I personally needed. I am an anxious person by nature, and it was great to have a match who helped calm my fears. Ashlee was available to answer any questions or concerns pretty much day or night. She suggested ways for us to save money, and helped us make a financial plan so that we could prepare as much as possible. After saving for our second child, we decided to work with FMS again when our first match was unable to do a sibling journey. We never thought we would be as happy with a different carrier, but we were. This time we were matched with an experienced surrogate, and even though she wasn’t local, we’ve felt like good friends from the beginning and she made sure travel was easy for everyone. That has been the easiest part of this journey, but everything else has been really hard this time around. Our clinic got bought out and every single thing has been difficult, from communication to getting correct orders, to scheduling issues and delays, and now three failed transfers in a row. This whole thing has been one big nightmare, and this agency has been invaluable in supporting me and our surrogate through many disappointing emails and phone calls with our clinic. Infertility and surrogacy is a very lonely and difficult experience sometimes for me and it’s nice to just be able to pick up the phone or send a text and feel like I have someone who “gets me” to talk me through whatever is happening. I think it says a lot when an agency is there through not just good times, but difficult ones too. Really great people here. My husband and I worked with a clinic in CT and found Ashlee to be superb in every aspect of our journey. The surrogate we were matched with was prepared and knowledgable about what to expect, which we really appreciated being her first time doing this. We were quite ignorant about surrogacy when we first contacted FMS, but Ashlee was so generous with her time in offering information and support, answering an endless list of questions and making us feel at ease. Costs and when to expect them were thoroughly explained and we were even provided reminders during each step so we always felt ready for what happened next. Our attorneys were great and easy to work with, and the escrow account setup was appreciated by my husband who really liked to track what was being spent. All in all, this agency is top notch. Family Makers Surrogacy Review I just finished my first surrogacy journey on April 3, 2019! At the moment I am EPing for surrogate baby girl! But enough about me. First I would like to say that Family Makers Surrogacy was not the first agency I started looking into. I actually had never heard of it till my IM reached out to me on social media and asked if I was still looking for IPs. I was, but wasn't comfortable going indy because this was my first journey. My IM was the one who knew of Family Makers and I believe she knew of them from another IP. So she suggested we check them out. I googled and searched here and found positive stories and reviews. So I decided this agency sounded like it would be a good fit for us. We were able to join Family Makers "already matched" so to speak and Ashlee Hammonds was instantly part of our lives! I was and still am, impressed, at how fast and informative she was with the whole experience! Ashlee's knowledge of surrogacy and IVF is very extensive and that put me at ease instantly. I definitely researched surrogacy before jumping in but still felt a little green on certain details. But Ashlee always seemed to be there for both myself AND my intended parents! She also is a great judge at HOW MUCH support you need. I didn't feel like she was "bothering" me with texts or emails. I never felt rushed or "pushed" into anything. There were weeks where it felt like we spoke everyday and then weeks where we wouldn't but her support in our journey was still there. Any issues we had she was right there for help and support. She was also always available for at chat, day or night which was very helpful in those times of confusion or what have you. My surrogacy journey was a beautiful experience. I just recently completed my first successful journey as a GC, and I wanted to share my experience to hopefully help someone else!! I went into this journey very excited and motivated to become a GC. I met the most amazing parents who had lifelong dreams of being parents. My IM was already using an agency, and I trusted her judgment so I also joined the “family.” From the moment I joined Family Makers Surrogacy, I was met with so much love, compassion, and support. My Case Manager- Ashley, went above and beyond at every step to make sure I was supported, informed and respected with every single decision and process we went through. I completed a successful journey with Family Makers and loved every minute. Like most, I came to these groups trying to research and decide what agency to work with and what questions to ask. Ashley, a case manager with them, commented on my inquiry post to give guidance and suggest their agency. I never felt pressured to choose them, though. She was genuine and gave advice since she was a previous surrogate on what to look out for in agencies and questions to ask. After looking into several agencies, I decided Family Makers was best for me. At the start of the process, I had tons of questions and always got truthful answers. That's what I wanted. I knew shots would hurt, and the hormones would make me crazy and i didn't want any glossing over. They have a standard benefit package, but each surrogate can make changes if they so wish. To me, everything seemed fair to the surrogate and IPs, so I personally didn't make changes. When it came to reviewing the IPs profiles, I got one sent to me at a time. All were great, but I didn't just have that gut feeling I knew I should. They were patient and helped me find the perfect IPs. Everything was relatively smooth during the journey, but I always knew I could reach out to my case manager, Ashley, and she would help and answer right away. The agency owner also an Ashley (but different Ashley 😆) was always available for help or anything as well. I never had to reach out to her for issues because I had none, and my case manager was amazing with everything else that needed handled.
