I unfortunately cannot recommend the Surrogacy Center of Philadelphia and its sister agency, The Surrogacy Center of Hawaii in Oahu. We’ve been working with both. As intended parents, our experience with this agency has been extremely disappointing. We paid for professional guidance, communication, and support throughout our surrogacy journey, and unfortunately, we have not felt that we received the level of service we expected. Communication has been a major issue. We have had time-sensitive concerns take more than two weeks to receive a response. When we have raised concerns, we have frequently felt dismissed or brushed off rather than supported. We have also had serious concerns regarding how situations involving our pregnancy have been handled. On one occasion, our gestational carrier did not follow doctor-mandated orders regarding bedrest. When she asked the agency whether she had done anything wrong, we were extremely concerned to learn that she was told she had not, because the agency did not want to cause her additional stress. We had to push the agency to address the situation more honestly. As intended parents, we found this extremely upsetting. We are currently dealing with another situation involving concerns about our baby’s well-being, and unfortunately, we again do not feel adequately supported or represented by our agency. Rather than ensure that our baby is born in a local hospital with a NICU to accommodate his complex medical needs, they would rather our surrogate feel comfortable in the hospital of her choice that does not have a specialized medical team in place or a NICU. I’m now having to make phone calls myself to medical professionals in order to get a written opinion in order for this simple change to happen. The agency is not taking this seriously and stated that if he needs medical care, he can be transferred to another hospital after his birth. In this case, he could die. They said that they have fulfilled their “contractual obligations” and therefore will not advocate for our son. They’re willing to jeopardize my son’s life for the “comfort” of our surrogate. We respect the medical autonomy of our gestational carrier. However, we also believe intended parents deserve an agency that will listen to their concerns, communicate promptly, and provide meaningful support when difficult situations arise. We also experienced significant concerns with a fertility clinic recommended by the agency, including repeated billing errors, concerns about medical decisions, and concerns regarding the relationship between the agency and the recommended clinic. These experiences further reduced our confidence in the guidance we were receiving. (Please see my review for In-Vitro Pacific in Oahu, Hawaii for more details.) To prospective intended parents: please remember that you are paying for a service. Ask very detailed questions about communication expectations, how the agency handles disagreements, how it supports intended parents when concerns arise, and whether agency staff have relationships with recommended providers. This has been one of the most important and vulnerable experiences of our lives. We expected our agency to provide communication, transparency, advocacy, and support, and we do not feel that our experience met that standard. Based on our experience, we would not choose this agency again and cannot recommend it to other intended parents.…

Working with Andrea was an awesome experience! We feel so fortunate to have been placed in such good hands as we began our long and uncertain journey of building a family. My partner and I had a great experience with this agency. Andrea and her team know what they are doing. They also helped us secure a grant to help with our IVF costs. Their fees are really affordable and someone was always able to answer our questions quickly.
They were so helpful helping me decide to work with my cousin as a surrogate as well as finding financial resources to get us started.
This agency has the kindest people who go above and beyond to make sure you have every thing you need from knowledge to a listening ear. I am a 2 time surrogate and my interaction with this agency has been amazing. They truly care for their surrogates and their intended parents.
