Tonya BeardJan 2026SurrogateI am a 2 time gestational carrier, and I have been around Surrogacy Is since the end of 2021 when I decided to do my first surrogate journey. At the time, they were not an agency themselves, so I used their advocacy support. They were so attentive to everything I had to say, and were able to answer all of my questions with resourceful information. They helped me find an agency for my first journey in 2023, but during that journey, when they became an agency themselves, I knew if I ever decided to do another journey they would be the agency I chose. If they could take the principles and the practices that they had from their advocacy agency into a surrogacy agency, I knew that they would be phenomenal. When I was ready for my second journey, I was able to easily apply and speak with somebody about getting my second journey started. I am now at the transfer stage of that journey, and they have been absolutely amazing every step of the way. I have had setbacks in this journey due to IPs needing to break match and a health concern, and while I was waiting for my clearances through the doctor they were still there checking on me making sure I was healthy and that mentally and emotionally I was okay. Once I got the all clear, they were right on top of trying to find me a new match that lined up with all of my matching points and values. I was quickly able to find my perfect match because of Surrogacy Is' diligenct work. We had a failed transfer back in November, and they have been so caring through the difficult time. My coordinator Joy R has been great! I am such an overthinker, but she has been able to help ease my mind during stressful times. She is always on top of everything, and usually is able to answer my questions before I even have a chance to ask them. They have had better communication, support, education, and benefits than my previous agency. I 1000% recommend them to anybody that's looking for a surrogacy agency, and I hands down would not go with another agency after having the best ever!!…

I have to say with my first journey with Surrogacy Is it was hands-down the best Surrogacy company I could’ve went with. I did a lot of research before I chose which company I was going to go with and they checked all of the boxes. Between how much they are actually there for the Surrogate also not just the intended parents is huge. You want to be seen and you want to be heard and that is a huge thing that they do at Surrogacy Is. I had an amazing coordinator at the very beginning of my journey Stormy and she was amazing It felt like we had been friends forever after talking, and she was there for every single little issue that arise which there was not very many, but if there was any sort of stress, she was there she answered she did all of the things to take it off of your plate. The most stressful thing for me had to have been the waiting like I wanted to get through everything as quick as possible to be able to help a family. The matching process was very quick and easy and we didn’t have any hiccups for that we’ve got matched and we literally clicked with the intended Parents. From the beginning of all this process to the very end, it was such a smooth journey, and I cannot wait to start my second journey. I highly recommend Surrogacy Is because of how special they make you feel. And you are truly doing the best thing that you could ever possibly do for somebody that wants to have a family so bad.…

We worked with this agency through matching and early screening and ultimately decided not to move forward. While staff were responsive, we ran into repeated issues with vetting and process rigor. Our criteria were not consistently reflected in candidates, and we were encouraged to proceed despite concerns raised by us and even by our clinic. The breaking point for us was during the psych consult, which is a critical screening step. The candidate didn’t join on time (until we reached out to her), and when she did, the situation wasn’t appropriate for a real evaluation to happen, as one of the parties was reportedly impaired. Despite that, the session wasn’t immediately shut down by the provider, and we ended it ourselves. That raised serious concerns for us about quality control and oversight. We also had at least one situation where profile information turned out to be inaccurate and was only corrected after we flagged it, attributed to the candidate being “new to matching.” This process is too expensive and too emotionally significant to feel like corners are being cut, so we decided to switch agencies. We have worked with other agencies for our other children, and I would not recommend considering this one, considering what else is out there. No agency is perfect, and Surrogacy Is is far from it.…

We were truly eager to support you in this journey, especially given the challenges you shared regarding your experience with previous agencies, and we had hoped to help you achieve a different outcome. While we respect your decision to go in another direction, we believe it is necessary to clarify the context of these events for future Intended Parents. Regarding your comment on process rigor, we want to clarify the extensive screening every candidate undergoes before a profile is ever shared. This includes criminal background checks for all household members, a virtual home visit, financial stability verification, and a comprehensive psychological evaluation including PAI testing. Furthermore, all medical records are gathered directly from facilities to ensure authenticity and are pre-reviewed by our on-staff IVF Nurse (RN, BSN with over 15 years of experience) to identify potential red flags before they are ever sent to a clinic. The candidate you matched with had successfully passed all of these steps prior to your match. It is also important to correct the record regarding the 'psych consult' mentioned. The session you are referring to was the secondary joint session we facilitate to ensure alignment between parties, in compliance with SEEDS standards and ASRM guidelines—not the initial psychological screening, which the surrogate had already passed. As this session involves coordinating five people (Intended Parents, surrogate, spouse, and a third-party doctoral-level psychologist), scheduling can be complex. The 'impaired' individual you referenced was the surrogate’s husband, who was in the passenger seat recovering from a scheduled outpatient surgery under anesthesia. The surrogate herself was sober, responsible, and driving him home. She agreed to keep this appointment time specifically to accommodate the group's schedule rather than rescheduling. While we agree it would have been better to reschedule, her intent was to be accommodating to your timeline, not malicious. Regarding the medical clearance, our records confirm that your clinic fully medically cleared this candidate on December 4th. We rely on the clinic’s medical expertise, and once they issued that clearance, we supported moving to the next step. Finally, regarding the agency fee: Our milestone-based structure is outlined clearly in our agency agreement. We do not require any payment until a match is mutually agreed upon and records are cleared. The second half of the fee is not due until after in-person medical clearance is granted. As that milestone was successfully achieved on December 4th, the agency services for this phase were fully completed. We respect your decision to move forward with a different agency, but we cannot alter our policy regarding refunds for services that were successfully completed and rendered.…
I worked with Andy throughout my intake and she has made switching agencies one of the best decisions I think I have made! I have always worked with Surrogacy Is as an advocacy agency, but moving to them for my full journey has been amazing so far. Initially interviewing 12 different agencies, we just finished our journey with Surrogacy Is to bring our son into this world 😊 over all we had a very positive experience - they were quick to match us (~3-4 months) even with our clinic rejecting previous GCs. We ended up getting matched with the most perfect surrogate for us who we formed a very close bond with and will forever be part of our family’s story 💗 Our journey coordinator Amber was also wonderful, very attentive and proactive to our needs throughout the process. My surrogacy journey has officially came to an end, and I’m so grateful for everything this second journey has brought me. I still remember my intake call like it was yesterday and how positive the interaction was! I was matched with an incredible set of IPs in July 2025, and this journey ultimately ended with my very first C-section. It was scary and definitely not how I imagined my birth story, but I did it and I’m so proud of myself for safely brining another miracle baby into this world. The love and thoughtfulness from everyone checking in after the delivery was amazing. The owner Sunshine even took the time to privately check in on me! I’m incredibly thankful for my journey coordinator Amber who was always there when I needed her, even with the time zone difference! A special shoutout to Nicole with Embra Health, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who was such an amazing listening ear and source of emotional support. I’m also SOOO thankful for my ambassador group of incredible women who supported me through every high and low and reminded me I was never alone. My journey may be complete, but the friendships, memories, and impact will last forever. I feel incredibly blessed and content with the two journeys I’ve been able to complete. I think it’s safe to say I’ll be retiring my womb, but I’ll always advocate for Surrogacy Is and direct friends and family to them because of the love, support, and care they provide their surrogates. Whether it’s last-minute prescriptions that need to be rerouted to another pharmacy because my regular pharmacy’s computer crashed, or the Dr. that’s 5 hours away decided she needs to see me tomorrow, and all my logistics need to be navigated in less than 10 hours, including rental car, food per diem, childcare, and dog boarding; Amber saw the challenge took it head on and carried the weight of the situation to ease my experience, thus easing the emotional weight or tax in the given moment. This leads me to crisis management in times of sensitive events. Amber remained calm and solution-focused. Her depth of knowledge as a previous surrogate herself, and her heart that glows with emotional intelligence, spoke volumes. The last beam of light, the glue that solidifies my radiating experience with Amber, is communication. Night or Day, Weekdays and Weekends. She is accessible. She responds promptly. I am a 2 time gestational carrier, and I have been around Surrogacy Is since the end of 2021 when I decided to do my first surrogate journey. At the time, they were not an agency themselves, so I used their advocacy support. They were so attentive to everything I had to say, and were able to answer all of my questions with resourceful information. They helped me find an agency for my first journey, but during that journey, when they became an agency themselves, I knew if I ever decided to do another journey they would be the agency I chose. If they could take the principles and the practices that they had from their advocacy agency into a surrogacy agency, I knew that they would be phenomenal. When I was ready for my second journey, I was able to easily apply and speak with somebody about getting my second journey started. I am now at the transfer stage of that journey, and they have been absolutely amazing every step of the way. I have had setbacks in this journey due to IPs needing to break match and a health concern, and while I was waiting for my clearances through the doctor they were still there checking on me making sure I was healthy and that mentally and emotionally I was okay. Once I got the all clear, they were right on top of trying to find me a new match that lined up with all of my matching points and values. I was quickly able to find my perfect match because of Surrogacy Is' diligenct work. We had a failed transfer back in November, and they have been so caring through the difficult time. My coordinator Joy R has been great! I am such an overthinker, but she has been able to help ease my mind during stressful times. She is always on top of everything, and usually is able to answer my questions before I even have a chance to ask them. They have had better communication, support, education, and benefits than my previous agency. I’m deeply disappointed with my experience at this company. As a Black man and my wife being a black woman, she encountered treatment that felt discriminatory, dismissive, and racially biased. There were clear differences in how my wife and I was spoken to and treated compared to others, and it was both painful and unprofessional. As a first time surrogate, Surrogacy is has been nothing short of amazing! Coming into wanting to be a surrogate I had almost no idea what to expect but Surrogacy is quickly made me feel at ease. Hey! I’ve been working with Surrogacy Is since February!! My journey has been a little bit longer because I had a baby in December so we were working with a timeline to encourage a safe recovery time to then move into my surrogacy journey. I started looking for an agency by calling 3 different places and decided from there. Surrogacy Is had the best intake call, they were so informative and kind and that’s what drew me in. I liked that they made me feel like they cared. Intake was a breeze when I moved to matching it was such a smooth process and the matching team does a great job at truly listening to what you want and when you are unsure in some areas they talked me through some options. I am currently waiting to be medically cleared after my match but so far this process has been so smooth and I have felt supported the entire way. I am a surrogate with surrogacy is. I just had my transfer and I absolutely love them. They go above and beyond to answer my questions. They are reachable more often than not. I like how often they check in with us as surrogates .. I 100% recommend them to everyone.

Look into their website, socials, etc they have so much information available. You just need to do a lot of research yourself on surrogacy then start research into the agencies. I’m a 3x surrogate on a journey with Surrogacy Is, and after 2 other agency experiences I have to say that this is just another level of care and attention. Their team is chock full of amazing people who care and give their whole hearts every day and it shows, but on top of that holy heck they are SMART and ethical. They want IPs and surrogates to have the best and safest journey together, and they’ve built such a strong program around that.

I’m currently 28 weeks pregnancy with Surro babe on my first journey with surrogacy is! I’ve been very pleased with them. I actually talked to the two you mentioned- growing generations and surrogacy is. Growing generations seemed more business-y and not very personal. I loved the connection with surrogacy is right from the beginning, it truly seemed like they cared. With the additional bonuses and relaxation package my overall pay came in higher than growing generations.
I wanted to go with Surrogacy Is but was denied for something in my first pregnancy even though I was able to be a surrogate after my first pregnancy. Honestly I’m kind of bummed out. Seemed pretty picky as far as surrogates. I probably won’t be recommending anyone to them in the future. I carried two pregnancies of my own and one surrogacy. I’ve heard they listen to you and it’s a case by case basis but I didn’t feel heard or understood. Kind of left a bad impression for me.
I'm a second time GC. I chose SI for this journey because my 1st agency was lacking in some areas. I am 17 weeks with belly bud, and so far everything has been better in my opinion. They have had better communication, education, and benefits than my other agency. You can tell they actually care about their GCs and IPs!

Hello, I’m a second time surrogate here too! I am currently 35 weeks pregnant with belly bud number two. I worked with a different agency for my first journey and am working with Surrogacy Is this time around, and I have been very happy with my experience. They have an incredible benefits package (the milestone bonuses, option for prenatal massages, and the house cleaning are my favorite perks) that truly make a difference and are greatly appreciated. From the founders, intake team, matching team, mental health professionals, travel coordinator, my journey coordinator, and especially the kind surrogates I have met through Surrogacy Is, everyone has been amazing. They matched me with a couple who met all of my preferences and more, and I feel so grateful for the care and support I’ve received along the way. I’m not sure if I’ll do another journey after this one, but if I do, I would absolutely love to be in the hands of Surrogacy Is again. I’m a 3rd time surrogate, currently 26 weeks with my last belly bud and working with surrrogacy is ❤️ I did one journey with an agency that was pretty awful, but for the most amazing set of parents so I can’t say I regret it. After that I got connected with surrogacy is as a surrogate advocacy group before they became an agency, and was blown away by the collective knowledge and deep care they have for surrogacy. I ended up doing an independent journey for my second one because it was for the same IPs and we had deep trust but I do not recommend this route overall. This journey has been amazing, even with some really tough stuff that’s come up (failed transfer, and I had to have an amnio and we had concerns of genetic abnormalities). The benefits and comp at surrogacy is cannot be matched from my experience. They have put together such a comprehensive package that I was honestly shocked even as an experienced surrogate that I hadn’t seen or thought of some of this stuff before and it was automatically part of my contract. I also love that they have the benefits laid out up front so IPs and surrogates start conversations already on the same page - it removes a lot of back and forth during legal and potential to not get benefits you should. The people at surrogacy is also just really really care, about every person and every individual journey. It’s amazing. I’ve felt supported and carried through this journey and know without a doubt that whatever comes up they are there and ready to go above and beyond for me and my IPs - because they’ve shown that’s just the norm and how they operate. I’m currently pregnant thru surrogacy is. It has been the most fun and exciting experience I could have ever asked for. Everyone on their intake, matching, and journey teams are awesome. I will say, matching took longer than I wanted, but that’s because I was fairly picky about what type of couple I wanted to carry for. The wait was so well worth it because my IPs are more amazing than I could hoped for. They have become such great friends and we love hanging out outside of pregnancy things. I’m an IP working with Surrogacy Is. We’re in the matching phase but very happy so far. Extremely professional and, based on the GC reviews I’ve seen on here, their surrogates are very happy too. We reached out to Brownstone having seen many glowing reviews but unfortunately they are not currently taking on new IPs.

I worked with them briefly as an IP but didn’t like that they charged a (much) higher agency fee for GC’s in higher demand states (CA, WA, OR). I received numerous GC profiles to review but didn’t find the right fit with any of them.

I worked with Surrogacy Is when they were just an advocacy service and they were amazing. They delivered on everything they said they would do and more. Some people saying “why are they getting more than the surrogate?” I really don’t think they are. Surrogacy Is consistently gets high comps for their surrogates and that’s why so many surrogates use them along with the team of support they provide along the way. The agency is ran by two former surrogates who know exactly what goes into the process and they offer support to everyone. Also for people saying an agency isn’t needed, many surrogates are not comfortable with that. The agency does SO much that is unseen and is absolutely worth it in my opinion. I don’t think Surrogacy Is will steer you wrong. They do a great job from both sides of the journey.…
I just paid half of SI's fee yesterday - it's $45k, which is on par or less than everyone else I interviewed. Susan and team worked hard for me! I saw evidence of their efforts every week. Compared to another agency who hasn't even bothered doing anything for me in months, won't show me any evidence that they're telling the truth about "working hard" and their fee is much higher, and they have a better rep. Well, not to me anymore! For all the hubub about Surrogacy Is, they have been the best out of the half dozen or so agencies I began working with. Whatever issues they had years ago are not there.…
I’m sorry you had this experience. I truthfully can’t say enough good things about Surrogacy Is. I’m an experienced surrogate. I have worked with another reputable agency and Surrogacy Is. They have been way more attentive and personable. I truly feel cared for and respected. All of my match preferences were made plus some! I’ve had nothing but positive interactions with Embra health. I just completed my first journey with them, delivered 4 weeks ago. It was an INCREDIBLE experience! Everything was seamless, I was well supported, communication was top notch and I never felt like just a number to them. They’re still checking in on me 1 month later.
I 100% recommend Surrogacy Is! I am currently with them for my second journey, and it has been a night and day difference compared to my first journey in the best way possible. Re: Surrogacy Is, as there was not much information when I searched before: Sharing our experience as IPs in case it helps others. We worked with this agency through matching and early screening and ultimately decided not to move forward. While staff were responsive, we ran into repeated issues with vetting and process rigor. Our criteria were not consistently reflected in candidates, and we were encouraged to proceed despite concerns raised by us and even by our clinic. The breaking point for us was during the psych consult, which is a critical screening step. The candidate didn’t join on time (until we reached out to her), and when she did, the situation wasn’t appropriate for a real evaluation to happen, as one of the parties was reportedly impaired. Despite that, the session wasn’t immediately shut down by the provider, and we ended it ourselves. That raised serious concerns for us about quality control and oversight. We also had at least one situation where profile information turned out to be inaccurate and was only corrected after we flagged it, attributed to the candidate being “new to matching.” This process is too expensive and too emotionally significant to feel like corners are being cut, so we decided to switch agencies.…

They are like hound dogs, inquired with them a few years ago before my second journey and went with someone else. I’ve told them this and have recently finished my third journey. They call and text multiple times a year from different numbers with fake super over the top excitement and at one point I pretended that I wasn’t even who they were calling and that said person didn’t have that number anymore so what did they do, they sent me some generic ass email instead 🤦🏼♀️
I came to surrogacy after cervical cancer, so this was my first journey too. We worked with agency, transported our embryos from Australia to Georgia, and honestly felt very supported and protected throughout. Our surrogate is now 6 months pregnant, and for us the experience has been clear, transparent, and reassuring so far
