SAI supports and promotes insurance fraud: verified non-coverage for surrogacy, SAI denies on multiple occassions, despite a formal review from ArtRisk, direct clarification from insurance claims department and clear "surrogacy is excluded and not covered" message from the surrogate's HR and legal department.
Response from Surrogate Alternatives · Feb 2024SAICEO: Please be advised that this poster is misrepresenting the circumstances of her journey, has repeatedly and egregiously violated her legal agreement with both the agency and her Surrogate, and has been emotionally and psychologically harrassing her Surrogate ever since the tragic stillbirth occurred. The harassment has escalated over time and now includes sending photos of her deceased child, immediately after the stillbirth occurred, to her Surrogate's seven year old son. Obviously this tragedy has affected her ability to reason and make sound decisions, as that type of behavior towards a child is never acceptable or justifiable. Please take her review in the spirit in which it was written and with the understanding that this person appears to be experiencing serious mental health issues. Clearly these issues are affecting her ability to tell right from wrong and causing her to commit irrational and unacceptable acts that are grossly inappropriate. We hope she gets the mental health assistance she needs to fully recover from this tragic event and stops her baseless assault on the agency and her Surrogate. CindyBiLeon: Diana Olmeda has been publicly defaming me with her pathological lies and personal attacks toward me like above. In June 2024, we sued her agency SAI for Defamation, Wrongful Death, Frauds, Breaches, False Advertising, Antitrust etc. together with other professionals in their pocket like Staci Whillock Insurance and Clarity Trust escrow et al. Multiple families have sued Surrogate Alternatives SAI in the San Diego court with verified hard evidence clearly spelled out in the lawsuits. Our lawsuits are publicly viewable on the court portal. Even more families settled with SAI but they continue to be gagged so their misconduct and unlawful acts can be covered under the rug. SAI needs to be shut down by court and government agencies so they can stop hurting hopeful parents that take surrogacy as the last resort to build a family.…

I would like to thank SAI for making my dream come true. Not only did I complete a family, I felt like family. The staff is great and they make you feel welcomed. They go above and beyond for their surrogates. I would hands down recommend SAI for IPs as well as surrogates. You want someone who listens to your concerns at any time this is the agency to go to. There were things that I liked and things that I didn't like about this agency. I really liked their benefit package and a couple of the ladies that I met from the SAI staff (my go to ladies that I would contact when I needed a questsion answered). I didn’t like that I often felt like I was just a petri dish, not an actual human. I didn’t feel like I actually mattered and that I should fit into this perfect mold...like I shouldn’t have any questions at all, even if they were about what would be done to my body. There were many times I was pressured to hurry to get things done (reviewing the contract, paperwork, etc.) when I was extremely nauseous but when I had questions (even about said paperwork) sometimes I would wait weeks for a response. Many times I had to call other ladies in the office who were not assigned to me because I couldn’t get ahold of my specific assigned person. Often times the staff were surrogates too. This is great because they can relate to what you are going through, but not so great when they can't keep up with the surrogates they are suppose to be helping. Also, I don't live in the same town as the office of SAI and I felt like I was treated different/neglected because of this. I often saw the treatment the local surrogates got and it was very different than what I got. This was the only agency I worked with, so I can’t compare to any others. I continued on to work independently (no agency) and it was the same amount of work on my part, but it cost the intended parents way less and there was no middle man. The intended parents, in my case, were way more attentive and caring than this agency. It has been a couple years since I worked with SAI and in the end I helped build a family, but I hope they have worked out these kinks and not hurt anyone on the way. This was my experience and I am a tough cookie, but I feel like a surrogate is a huge part of the equation in this situation and they should all be taken care of and treated equal. As a same sex couple, my husband and I were careful about who to partner with knowing our journey to becoming parents would come with unique challenges. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this agency. We were intended parents from GA and I am so glad we chose to use an agency. SAI not only has an AMAZING team of people (seriously- everyone there is a blessing. They are either intended parented or former angel surrogates and want the BEST for both parties). My experience with SAI it’s been always satisfying all the girls working here are very helpful rebecca help my with my match and did everything she could to get me the perfect IPs ! When my partner and I were researching agencies, we wanted an agency that was local in San Diego and one where we felt well supported. SAI checked all the boxes. I have been a surrogate with SAI for 3 completed journies. I will start by saying that I believe the choice to be a surrogate is very personal and should not be taken lightly. Pregnancy is a major medical event that is not without risks. But if you are considering, SAI is a great first resource for information on all things surrogacy. If you have a question, their website probably has an answer, and if it doesnt, a quick inquiry will get you a prompt response from one of their many incredibly kind and knowledgeable employees. One of the biggest things I appreciate about the company is they work hard to ensure that you, as a surrogate, are mentally, physically, and emotionally fit before approving you; they are not trying to chrun out surrogates like a factory for profit- they care about you as a person and your total wellbeing. Once you have decided on surrogacy, the entire team works with you from start to finish to make the process as easy and streamlined as possible. I have heard (and seen) horror stories from those who have used other agencies or gone through this independently and I know with 100% certainty (x3) that those are not issues you will have with SAI. They check in frequently from start to finish, answer questions promptly, and care about you as a person outside of who you are to the company. I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you so much to all of the staff at SAI for providing me the best experience I could’ve asked for. I completed my very first surrogacy journey in May 2024. SAI found me the most incredible intended parents who really cared about me and my well-being. They attended most of the OB appointments and were involved throughout the journey, we still have a close relationship to this day! I carried a girl for the Intended parents and she is so precious! Every moment and milestone through my journey was highlighted by the staff. I received very thoughtful gifts along the way, and was also able to attend to surrogate retreat throughout my journey. The retreats were so memorable and I had the best time, not only with the staff, but with my other surrogate sisters as well. Through my journey, I have met some other amazing surrogate friends that have become such a close friend in my life. SAI had connected me with the best resources and always had reassurance when I needed it. I had a fantastic experience as an Intended Parent with SAI. I have a beautiful, healthy, amazing 3-month-old daughter. I cannot say enough good things about SAI - they are truly professionals and have so much experience in the surrogacy space. They know every doctor, hospital, surrogate, agency and have a pulse on everything. After interviewing 3 other agencies, I went with SAI because I felt completely understood by them. They understood me and my husband and were able to match us with the right surrogate quickly. Quick tip: when considering an agency, think about this relationship almost like dating. You want to find an agency that understands you, your values and what matters. This led us to our amazing surrogate who I adore and have nothing but the utmost respect and care for. She is incredible, kind, communicative, organized, thoughtful and just a lovely person. We continue to have a growing friendship and I hope for many years to come. Another reason, I worked with SAI was they were the right size agency. They were small enough where you would get all the attention and care that you need but large enough where their networks are big and they can work fast. From the time we submitted our application, it was 2 weeks to the time we were matched. It was fast! And a little over a year later, we have our dream baby. I was referred by a friend of a friend who works at an IVF clinic in Texas and the doctor at that clinic said SAI is the best. I truly think they have built a strong team and network in the surrogacy space. Of course, nothing is perfect and things do happen in this process but as far as having supportive caring people on your side, SAI will be there along the way. I shared this feedback with SAI already so maybe they will implement it soon. I wish SAI had a support group for Intended Parents. It's an emotional rollercoaster going through this for the first time and it would be nice to connect with other intended parents who understand this journey. My fertility journey was far from easy and so this process brought up lots of fear that I had to work through. So my advice is to find others going through the process with who you can check in regularly and talk about how it is going. I leaned on my one friend quite a bit and that was so helpful. When it comes to costs, the worksheet they shared with you is pretty much exactly the cost of everything. They have the costs very dialed-in. I truly don't have any negative feedback for them. They exceeded all my expectations. The best thing you can do is to be clear about what you're looking for in a surrogate and let them make it happen. They can work magic :-). I had my first surrogate journey with SAI and it won’t be my last. I went into this wanting to help create a family and I loved all of it including the difficult times. Every pregnancy is different and I thought I’d have a breeze of a surrogate journey since my actual pregnancy with my son was smooth but I was wrong. My surrogate journey was a tad bit difficult due to being on bed rest for some time but SAI made it as smooth as they could for me. Lots of support from the agency and they always checked up on me which I appreciated! I had worked with another agency for a previous journey and was unhappy with their support and commitment. A fellow surrogate referred me to SAI. Their staff is friendly and treat you like family. They try to match their families with surrogates that have similar interests and ideas. They have a very responsive support team, that have either been a surrogate or currently are. On top of this, they provide a monthly support group with fellow surrogates or one on one counseling. They understand that this can be a long and sometimes difficult process and so make sure their surrogates have the support they need. I started my first surrogacy journey in 2016 (singleton) and recently finished my second surrogacy journey in June 2019 (Twins). To be honest, I never thought about being a surrogate because I had never met anyone who went through it. When I heard one of my co-workers was a surrogate carrying twins (She was a surrogate through SAI and I didn’t know at that time until after I had applied with them.) I thought that was an amazing thing she was doing and it sparked an interest. So I began doing some research and all that surrogacy entails. I decided that this was something I wanted to do. I looked up agencies and what was close to my area. SAI popped up and I went for it. So glad I did because they are truly amazing! Everyone at SAI is there with you every step of the way. They are patient, kind, and they genuinely care about you. The ladies at SAI have gone through surrogacy themselves so they know exactly what you are going through. They are a great support system throughout. They work extremely hard, driving to doctors appointment, transfers, and deliveries to be by the surrogates side. Ive had nothing but positive experiences. Choosing a good surrogate agency is one of the most important parts of your surrogate journey. Choosing SAI means that you will have a very supportive and involved staff standing with you the entire way. I live in AL and even though the agency is in CA, everything was so simple and I didn't have to worry about a thing. They took care of everything for me so there were no hiccups and everything went smoothly. The staff is very friendly and always willing to assist. Someone is always available to answer any questions you might have and the turn around time is quite fast. I started with the SAI in Dec 2018, got matched in Jan 2019, signed contracts in April 2019, and am now 7 weeks pregnant (due June 23, 2020). They call and check on me you before your transfer, when you are going for certain appointments, and just to check on you. They even have a representative come with you to you transfer appointment, they are so involved and I love them for it. I have been with SAI for 4 years now and through two journeys, and the staff is always so kind and makes sure everything is going well. I love when they check in and how often they do it. I've been given so much help with recommendations , especially on how to do my injections. I love to ice and warm up the areas before injections. Warming helps move the oil that's already in your previously objected sites, then the cold helps numb the area for a more sensitive day. Also, warming your oil underneath your boob/in your bra has always been the most effective way for me to heat my oil. If you don't heat it, it's basically like peanut butter being objected. Always warm the oil yall. That's all I have to say. Love you, SAI! ❤️…
Some of the support staff have no clue what they are talking about.....if someone treats you like you're an idiot for icing your bum before your progesterone injections, and that what you should be doing is heating your bum with a heating pad before you do the injection, from that moment on- stop listening to anything else they have to say. They are not an intelligent source of info. BTW- heating your bum before the injection- makes it 10x worse! Ice is the way to go. SMH.......

Communication was horrible, we set up so many of my appointments and my travel on our own. They assigned me my own attorney and maybe I could have changed it but that wasn’t how it seemed. I would not recommend them to anyone and my IPs would say the same.
I was with them for my first match years ago. I felt like just a number to them. They didn’t listen to my preferences with matching and tried matching me with IPs who didn’t match my preferences. Then I matched even though it wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for. Went through 2 transfers and they didn’t work. My amazing case manager left the agency shortly after and I decided to break the match after the 2nd transfer and try to be rematched. My new case manager wasn’t great. I ended up leaving the agency and matched with the perfect IPs within a week of signing up at my new agency. Had the best experience and journey with that agency Modern Family Surrogacy. They actually listened to what I wanted and it was the best journey.…
My very first journey years ago was with them. Everyone communicated well, they set up a great match, I was able to set my own comp, pick my attorney, all the things that come with an ethical agency. Can’t really speak for them currently.

I am a second time surrogate with them. I went with them for my first journey and it was amazing. I didn’t want to do another journey without them by my side. They have a long time in this business and pretty much all the staff are either previous IP’s or previous surrogates so they know what you’re going through and every step of the process. My first journey with them started in Aug 2023 and ended when I gave birth to surro-baby in Feb 2025. I am going through legal clearance on my next journey now.…

I began my journey with S.A.i at the end of 2023. Was matched quickly and everything was fine. Once we signed legal my coordinator started ghosting me. So I requested a new one. I ended up with Holly who was picture perfect coordinator/case manager. Unfortunately she had to go on medical leave and everything went down hill from there. I had so many people call me that I gave up saving numbers or even reaching out to them. (Not joking I assigned had 4 or 5 coordinators. Plus 1 or 2 idk who's to call me and "see how I was doing"). If emergency happened in 3rd trimester I didn't even know who to contact because after 3rd coordinator things just went completely down hill. I notified them of my induction date and got a email saying they tried to call me (which they didn't I was even on wifi and had cell service). But at that point I didn't even care. I didn't hear from them again til around 2 or 3 wks post delivery. Whoever called was a new person asking if I had all my medical bills submitted into escrow. I'm like are you serious!? 1. I've never gave bills to them I submitted directly to Seedtrust. 2. But really, I haven't even had a 6wk follow up and you're hounding me about bills already!? Delivery was Feb 21st 2025. Other than that 1 phone call I've never heard from agency again. No check in to see how appointment went. No follow up to make sure bills are submitted. So now, I find out from my IP, they are fighting to get the escrow closed. I told them all my bills were submitted, I was cleared for another journey, feel free to close escrow. Our contract states 6mons post delivery. S.a.i. Is refusing to close escrow. Funny part is, after birth they told them if all goes well escrow will be closed at 6mons. Now they are saying he has to wait a year because of something he signed with them in the beginning. So he's now having to reach out to an attorney to see if our signed agreement Trump's their basic no name on document papers. IP also waited weeks to even get a response after Seedtrust tried to get their approval to close escrow. To the point they had to contact sai owner because he was getting no reply. So I apologize for this very long review. But wanted to share both GC and IP Outlook on our journey.…
