I have had the most positive and supportive experience as a two-time surrogate with Northwest Surrogacy Center! NWSC was always available to answer any questions, but also made the process very easy to follow-there were no guessing games as to where I was in the process or what was going to happen next. I was also matched with the most incredible IPs, who I am still in contact with and still very much feel valued and appreciated. During and after my journey, my case coordinator was absolutely wonderful. Everyone I ever came in contact with at NWSC was so caring and attentive. I have done two full surrogacy journeys (1 – failed) with Northwest Surrogacy Center and they have been amazing every step of the way. From the first initial intake call I had, I felt that they truly cared about their surrogates and intended parents. They are thoughtful to your requests during the matching period and they were there to answer any questions I had without hesitation or judgement. During my second journey I unfortunately suffered a blighted ovum meaning embryo did not thrive as anticipated from blood work and NWSC checked in on me multiple times to make sure I was doing okay. They go above and beyond to make sure their surrogates are taken care of and I really appreciated that. I also appreciate how transparent they are when it comes to compensation and how you are paid as a surrogate. Our surrogacy journey with NWSC took three years and included its share of ups and downs. We went through three matching processes before finding the right surrogate, and our third embryo transfer was ultimately successful. Throughout the entire journey, the NWSC team was patient, compassionate, welcoming, and organized. Turns out Oregon doesn't have a stork delivering babies, it's got roughly ten guys running what is functionally a subscription service. You knock on ANY door in a three-county radius and there's a statistically decent chance the answer is 'Donor 4,' 'Donor 9,' or that one guy who's apparently fathered enough kids to field his own youth soccer league — unofficially, obviously, since none of them know each other and all of them think they're an only child." "That's the real knock-knock joke: every door you knock on in Portland, there's a 1-in-10 chance the answer is the SAME guy, just wearing a different house number. We worked with NWSC for our surrogacy journey. They have a really good reputation in the community and prioritise protecting both intended parents and surrogates. We always felt that we were in very good hands and really respected their knowledge and experience. The legal process is greatly simplified as they have a standard contract precedent that is already tailored to the way they work; they know all the lawyers who specialise in surrogacy in Portland (and those lawyers all understand NWSC's contract); and they have a network of people to whom they can introduce you - including lawyers, paediatricians, insurance providers, and accommodation. The team (particularly Erin, our co-ordinator) is fantastic. They are genuinely excited to be helping intended parents start their families. NWSC's approach to matching is incredible. We were matched with a surrogate who fitted perfectly with our personalities and our outlook on life. We count her now as one of our friends and part of our extended family. I have been a surrogate twice through NWSC & currently in the matching process for my 3rd Journey! I have loved working with them for the past 6 years, they are very helpful with each step & supportive when I needed it. Rating based on surrogacy process - I was really excited to start my surrogacy journey with NW Surrogacy Center. I went through a lot of hoops for the first couple months, medical clearances, meetings, and then the psych evaluation. It’s a bit vulnerable to tell someone your life story and then take a personality quiz afterwards. The psych evaluation doctor, Mark Dillon, told me I was “too positive” in the first quiz and so I had to take another, so I listened to that feedback and did another in hopes that I pass it, obviously answering as honestly as I did in the first. I was then called a few days later by Ebee, the person who has been leading me on the journey, and she told me I had “too many inconsistencies” between what we talked about vs. the quizzes. There was no higher up person I could talk to about this and of course they have to follow the protocol. It just really sucks going through the process and being told “we don’t think it has anything to do with you as a person.” But obviously it does if you have to deny the person on that. I hope they eventually adapt the process to actually appropriately evaluate someone in the future. I was ready and excited to do this and obviously knew I could, I just hope the process is better for women that ARE psychologically fit and excited to do this in the future. I hope there are other clinics out there, just beware of this going into surrogacy. ALSO BEWARE: they had me sign up for a secondary insurance to make sure everything would be covered, with the intention that they would be paying me for it as long as I needed while being a surrogate. THANK GOODNESS I was denied surrogacy within the 10 day free trial period still, and thank goodness I remembered to ask them if they would be canceling this on their end (they don't), I was able to get it canceled through the insurance company. Otherwise I would have been liable for paying $650+ a month for insurance I didn't even need. Just a note for newbies that don't think about this stuff! This took it down from 2 stars to one star for me.…

As intended parents, we are so fortunate to have Cydni as our case manager! She made our experience at NWSC truly special! During late afternoon the day before a long weekend, we had a question which would impact an important decision to be made during the holiday. We didn't expect to get a clear answer given the holiday situation, but asked Cydni for advice anyways. Cydni took immediate action and called the hospital directly to get the answer for us so we could make an informed decision in time. When we had a medical emergency with the pregnancy, Cydni went above and beyond to get information from other case managers and surrogates for us. We are very moved by Cydni's empathy and kindness and really appreciate her amazing support, encouragement, guidance and help throughout this journey. It can be overwhelming at first but we were provided all the information we needed and had ongoing communication. They even helped us find an air bnb when we traveled for the birth! I just finished my first journey as a gestational carrier. From the first steps of inquiring about surrogacy (shout out to Mariah, who is wonderful) and what it entails to the check ins after birth, I felt safe, cared for, advocated for, supported and listened to. The screening / clearance process was very thorough, so I felt that NWSC really made sure to only choose candidates that are healthy and have a great pregnancy and birth history (to make sure you're safe!). The matching process was easy and I felt that NWSC heard what I was looking for in a match. The dads I carried for are the best people, and we're good friends, so I think they did a fantastic job in matching us. Throughout the process, my case manager, Amber, was amazing. She was helpful (e.g., in scheduling/ booking travel etc) and emotionally supportive when things didn't go as I had hoped (first transfer didn't work). I never felt alone or that I had to navigate something too difficult. But she wasn't hovering or micromanaging either, which was just the right balance. Accounting has been fantastic too, I'm always reimbursed for any copays or expenses right away. The legal process has been straight forward, I got to pick my own lawyer, though they offered suggestions on who they've worked with in the past and had good results with. My lawyer looked out for my best interests even for things I hadn't thought of, so I felt protected legally too. Throughout the journey, NWSC had surrogate meet-ups, little gifts they sent, support groups and a private FB group for surrogates if you need it, so I also felt supported and spoiled in that way. Not sure what else to add. The whole experience was amazing. Seeing the dads with their little girl is so precious, I love getting videos and photos of her and I'm planning a visit later this year. I chose NWSC because of their commitment to working with LGBTQ parents, their commitment to working with parents who aren't wealthy (surrogacy should be accessible for anyone who needs it!), their experience and their thoroughness. I had looked into other agencies, but felt that NWSC was the best fit for me. I highly recommend them.…
Fantastic agency. Our experience was not fast due to factors outside of the agency’s control - the COVID pandemic, and multiple failed embryo transfers. However, when we needed a surrogate rematch, it happened extremely quickly and we could not have been more pleased. One of the features of this agency is that they treat surrogates with a lot of dignity. The process does not feel at all transactional. The surrogates they recruit truly want to help a couple who want a family and otherwise cannot. I expect that the surrogate’s family and mine will have a very warm relationship for years to come.…
Being a surrogate with NWSC was amazing. They were patient with me during the process since this was my first time as a surrogate. We had some issues on the way and they helped me through all of that. They matched me with a great couple and because of the great experience I had I will definitely be a surrogate through them again.
Yes we get it, you need more gestational slaves. Women and children aren't products. if you're infertile, get therapy.

As an international parent, I was very lucky to have the Northwest team working with me in the journey of building up my family. I just completed my first surrogacy, and with NWSC. The process has been long, but totally worth the time and energy. I don't know how they manage to match the surrogate with the perfect family, but they might expand into the 'friend matching' business, cause the Intended Parents and I will be keeping in touch for life, for sure. I think this is the most critical part of the surrogacy process, because it sets the entire journey up for success. Most of the surrogacy is communicating with the IPs, and our case worker at NWSC was the support and go-between so we never had to discuss nitty-gritty stuff, between parents and surrogate.
